How To Clean And Care
For Your Refinished Tub
Do NOT use abrasives such as Comet, Ajax, or abrasive scrubby pads as they will wear down a tub's surface.
DO use a shower caddy to keep shampoos, soaps, and other items off your refinished surface.
DO clean your tub regularly, as needed, with a non-abrasive cleaner such as Scrubbing Bubbles along with a soft rag or sponge. Here's how:
1. Spray Scrubbing Bubbles on dry tub.
2. Use wet rag to work it in.
3. Rinse with hot water
What if the tub bottom seems slicker than before?
If the invisible slip resistant bottom seems less effective, it probably means soap scum build-up. In this case, let the Scrubbing Bubbles sit on the dry tub bottom for ten minutes before rubbing it in and rinsing it off.
How do I clean rust stains, lime or mineral deposits?
This is really a multi step cleaning process as you need to remove the soap scum before attacking the rust or mineral deposits. This is how it's done:
1. Spray Scrubbing Bubbles on dry tub.
2. Use wet rag to work it in.
3. Rinse with hot water and dry.
4. Spray CLR (in yellow bottle, NOT the kind in the gray bottle) on rust stains in dry tub.
5. Let CLR sit for ten minutes.
6. Rinse with hot water.
Having a water softener can help manage rusty water. This problem is one that needs regular maintenance.
